What’s New in 2026?

As of January 15, 2026, IRCC has frozen the list of eligible fields of study. This provides much-needed certainty for students currently enrolled in programs across Canada.

Continuous Full-Time Study

You must have maintained full-time student status in Canada during each semester of your program (except the final semester).

Program Length

Your program must be at least 8 months (900 hours in Quebec).

Eligible Institution

You must graduate from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) with a PGWP-eligible program.

Application Timeline

You have 180 days from the date you receive your final marks or completion letter to apply.
